FUOYE ELS Organizes Digital Humanities Workshop, Grantsmanship

The Department of English & Literary Studies at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti is scheduled to host an online workshop on Digital Humanities and Grantsmanship. This was contained in a promotional flier shared across social media by the Department. The academic webinar tagged Digital Humanities and Writing Winning Fellowship/Grant Applications is billed to come up on Saturday, September 18, 2021.    

The webinar which is proposed to cover three different topical areas is billed to feature three Nigerian scholars. The first paper will be delivered by Prof. Tunde Ope-Davies from the Centre for Digital Humanities, University of Lagos. Ope-Davies, who also doubles as the Convener of the Lagos Summer School on Digital Humanities, will be speaking on Corpus Building and Analysis Using Corpus Tools.  The second presentation will be made by Prof. Oyeniyi Okunoye, the Dean of Faculty of Arts, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. Okunoye, an African Humanities Programme Workshop Facilitator, will handle a session with a focus on Fellowship, Grants and other Academic Opportunities for the Nigerian Academic. The third and last session will feature Dr. James Yeku, an Assistant Professor of Digital Humanities at Kansas University, Unites States of America. Yeku will speak on Digital Literary Humanities in Africa.

The webinar will have Prof. B.T Opoola, the Dean of Arts as the Chief  Host while Dr. R.O Farinde, the Head of the Departement of English & Literary Studies is the host.
