An edited book on the renowned writer, essayist and university teacher, Prof. Akachi Adimora-Ezeigbo, is to be publicly presented in October, 2021. This information was contained in a flier circulating on social media. The book, titled The Writer in the Mirror: Conversations with Akachi-Adimora Ezeigbo, will be unveiled at the Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Auditorium, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alieke, Ebonyi State, Nigeria.
The book, edited by Dr Evelyn N. Urama, will have its public presentation hosted by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sunday O. Elom while his Deputy (Academic) Prof Dennis A. Akoh, is to chair the occasion. The reviewer of the book, Dr. John Otu, who also doubles as the Head of the Department of English and Literary Studies of the university, is also drawn from the Department where the focus of the book is currently affiliated. Special guests expected at the occasion include Professors Olu Obafemi, Afam Icha-Ituma, Chinyere Stella Okunna, Johnson O Urama, Stella Madueme, Dr. Wale Okediran and others from different walks of life.
Adimora-Ezeigbo obtained her Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Masters (MA) degrees from the University of Lagos before obtaining a PhD from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.She became a Profeesor of English at the University of Lagos in 1999. She is a writer whose published work includes novels, poetry, short stories, books for children. She has won several awards including the Nigeria Prize for Literature.
She is a member of many academic associations such as The Literary Society of Nigeria, Modern Languages Association of Nigeria, Association of Nigerian Authors and Women Writers Association of Nigeria (WRITA).
