A Professor of Media and Society and President of the Association of Communication Scholars & Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN), Prof. Umaru Pate, is to deliver the first edition of ACSPN’s Mentor/Mentee Sessions Webinar Initiative on January 12, 2022.
Members of the public, particularly of the academic community all over the world, will be asking the Professor and third Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Kashere, Gombe University series of questions relevant to mentor-mentee relationships.
The webinar, titled “Ask Me”, is supported by the International Press Centre (IPC), Lagos, Nigeria, and will begin at 3pm Nigerian Time.
The organiser’s statement reads:
“It (the webinar) is an empowerment session designed to equip scholars, students and Professionals. Mentees (and other participants) from any part of the world would be able to ask questions on any issue from the guest mentor. Each session is expected to last max 90 minutes, and is planned to be quarterly. Interested mentors (academics or professionals, local and international) whose broad expertise would be announced, are to be selected, based on parameters designed to offer mentees and participants a rewarding session. Interested mentors with value-added expertise in communication scholarship and practice, are encouraged to indicate interest to feature, by contacting the ACSPN Secretariat. ACSPN programmes build capacities and competencies.”
